By Tom Greene, Letter to the Editor, Des Moines Register

In August 2009, U.S. Rep. Dave Loebsack's office requested 60 minutes of time to visit our pharmacy to listen to our concerns about the pending national health care bill. We were pleased that Loebsack wanted to find out the real concerns we had here in southeast Iowa.

He proceeded to preach to us the potential benefits, and shrugged off the impending cost liabilities. Loebsack did not want to listen to our concerns on tort reform, or the inadequate Medicare and Medicaid payment for current services.

The citizens of the 2nd District expect and deserve a representative who will listen to our concerns, vote with the majority of the Iowans in that district, and think independently from how Speaker Nancy Pelosi tells her caucus to vote.

It's time for a fresh voice, and to balance the tables in Washington. Mariannette Miller-Meeks is just that person. She's military, an independent business owner, knows what she's talking about on the health care issues and will not blindly follow Pelosi down the path of ever increasing federal debt.
