With huge majorities in the Senate and House of Representatives, you would think that the president and Democrats in general would stop complaining about Republican obstructionism. The Democrats have been lock step behind nearly every spend program this executive branch has put forward -- save one or two who have held out until a not so disguised "bribe" brought them back into the fold.

At least during the Clinton years, there were polls that helped him to guide his way to popularity and re-election. This president ignores the will of the people.

Dave Loebsack seems to have not found a single issue put forward by Nancy Pelosi that he did not endorse enthusiastically. He and his ilk need to be voted out, the sooner the better.

A wonderful opportunity exists in Iowa's 2nd Congressional District, which is comprised of 15 counties in southeast Iowa. There is a candidate whose credentials, as a physician and retired military officer, provide voters with a viable, knowledgeable alternative to the current sorry state of affairs.

Mariannette Miller-Meeks comes to the election as a practicing physician in Ottumwa. She graduated at the top of her class at the University of Texas, and was elected to AOA, the national medical honor society. She was the first woman president of the Iowa Medical Society in 2006.

There can be no better voice in the health care debate, especially as it relates to Iowans than Miller-Meeks. Her record of giving back to her country, state and community, speaks legions on her ability to provide the leadership and direction this Congressional District demands.
